Stockport’s Frogs have come to be a ‘giant’ part of summertime in the town centre since 2019. The free family art trail ‘hops up’ every other year to provide an interactive installation for local people of all ages.Specifically designed to help them rediscover Stockport and instil a sense of pride in the ‘giant leaps’ forward happening all around them. Each year has a supporting campaign, with it’s own identity and prototype frog which is then brought to life by local artists.
From the initial sketches to the final six-foot sculpture, the aesthetic of the frog is designed to primarily be a canvas for each theme.
This year’s trail is themed around invention, with all 19 frogs showcasing a specific creation. Each frog sits on a large cog shaped base, that doubles up as seating providing the perfect photo opportunity.
